Moritz J. Schmid, PhD — Economist, Consultant, Researcher

I am an economist, researcher, and consultant with a particular interest in macroeconomics, public finance, and applied quantitative methods.

I hold a PhD in Economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business, have been a Visiting Scholar at Stanford University, and have completed the CFA curriculum.

My research focuses on how interpretable machine learning methods can support managerial and governmental decision-making. My work has been published in Government Information Quarterly, Public Management Review, and Nonprofit Management and Leadership.

Here, I share my research and selected writing on financial markets and related topics. I also provide information on my advisory work, including non-discretionary mandates and seminars. Any views expressed here are solely my own.
